Rick and Linda Martin
Community Ministry and Training
Rick and Linda Martin, husband and wife, are a team on staff with My People. They are based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. They have two daughters who are presently away attending college and university. School teaching drew Rick to the north and there he met his wife, Linda, a Cree from Muskrat Dam, Ontario.

Rick and Linda are responsible for the development and facilitation of peer counseling and training programs. They also lead workshops and small groups dealing with life’s issues in First Nations communities, issues such as abuse, family crisis, and grief. They are involved, through these programs, in holistic evangelism. They have a clear understanding of the responsibility for discipleship in such contents.

In addition to these regular responsibilities, Rick and Linda provide support for other native counselors. They are involved in support work for local pastors and other church leaders. As well, Rick and Linda often co-ordinate children and youth events in northern communities where they have regular connections.

Rick also finds time to occasionally co-ordinate hockey camps, clinics, or other hockey events. He also is involved in music ministry where he helps lead worship at conferences and local churches.
